INTASC.4.C K: The teacher knows how to enhance learning through the use of a wide variety of materials as well as human and technological resources (e.g. computers, audio-visual technologies, videotapes and discs, local experts, primary documents and artifacts, texts, reference books, literature, and other print resources).
Understanding Sentence:
The teacher knows and implements many different approaches to teaching that promote problem solving, performance skills and critical thinking that help childrens development.
Reflect:
The artifact that I chose for this standard represents it because it shows that I know how to use different strategies to encourage children's learning and development. The artifact that I chose was a project that I was assigned in which we had to use the Inspiration program and pick an even in education history. Then we had to find events that correlated to this event, within twenty years before and after the date of the event, in such categories like performing arts, technology, education, science, etc., and then relate them back to the main event. We had to identify the event and define how it affected the main event or how the main event affected the event. Then, it was to be displayed in an Inspiration file as a web that desctribed all the above events. This artifact relates to the specific category of this standard because it is a good example of using technology to enchance learning and to promote children's critical thinking, performance skills and problem solving.
Project:
I think that this artifact shows that I understand using technology and incorportating it into teaching so that children can have the knowledge of technology and using it to reseach and do many other things. Since technology is such an important aspect in all lives nowadays, this artifact shows that I am a learner that understands how technology can be used for so much and how it can promote children's development in many different ways. I think that this artifact shows that I am becoming a teacher who will use technology in the classroom so that children can understand the uses of technology and be able to use it when they need it for research or for completing an assignment or project.
